In my nine years living and working in Chicago, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with a number of great organizations. Working on both the business and creative side of the marketing and advertising industries has given me valuable insight into what it takes to produce and scale projects.
I started my career as an intern with the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. As a Public Relations intern, I drafted press releases, helped to organize media relation events with players, and implemented community outreach programs.
In 2009, I started work with ClearEdge Marketing as a Public Relations Manager. This position gave me the opportunity to build marketing campaigns from the ground up. Working with ClearEdge also introduced me to the Chicago and New York Tech scenes, and everything they have to offer.
In October of 2010, I co-founded CrowdAround Media. I've learned that starting your own business turns you into a man of many trades. Apart from my main focus on business development and marketing, I became adept in video production, editing, and design.
Now six years old, CrowdAround has expanded its client roster from a single client, to more than sixty, with services ranging from design and photography, to video, marketing, web design, and SEO.
CrowdAround Media has also given me the opportunity to continue working with the great tech and startup community here in Chicago. I've been fortunate to engage with organizations like Built in Chicago, The Chicago Innovation Awards, ARA (Attract, Retain,Advance Women in Tech), The Illinois Technology Association, and Tech Nexus.
Working on both the creative and business development side of the marketing and advertising processes has given me valuable insight into what it takes to efficiently, and most importantly, successfully launch and scale projects. It has also shown me that there is always more to learn, and that has been my goal every day.
